Business and Entrepreneurship Center Program

Strengthen - Assist - Expand

The Business and Entrepreneurship Centers (BEC) support the natural cycles of entrepreneurship and business development in California by bringing entrepreneurial training and education to existing business owners and future entrepreneurs. Through partnerships, collaborations, and relationships with businesses and industry, and the 113 California Community Colleges, the BEC heightens awareness of entrepreneurship as a proven career path.

Two programs currently underway are the Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP) and the Faculty Entrepreneurship Program (FEP).

The YEP brings business ownership concepts to youth, ages 14-27, with the intention of replacing misconceptions of vocational education and blue-collar jobs with increased awareness of the possibilities of self-employment as a legitimate lifetime career path.

The FEP aligns with the Community College "Faculty Champions" in California whose mission is to improve and expand entrepreneurship courses, certificates degrees and curriculum across disciplines.

Strengthen – the entrepreneurial spirit in California by encouraging young people to engage in entrepreneurship as a legitimate lifetime career path

Assist –with regional and statewide efforts to increase the success of business through partnerships and collaborations with industry, education and government

Expand –entrepreneurship curriculum across community college campuses
