Next Generation Tools for Success
April 23-25, 2008
Marriott Newport Beach Hotel & Spa, California
Continuing with last year's conference
theme of Tools for Success, this year's
Economic and Workforce Development
Program Annual Conference is about
"Next Generation Tools for Success!"
You will hear from educators, authors,
and business leaders addressing how
to work with today's and tomorrow's
generations and how to apply next
generation tools. You will learn about
organizational structures that promote
entrepreneurial delivery and processes
and tools that can be implemented by
college leaders and economic
development professionals upon return
to your worksite. Dr. Mark Milliron,
President and CEO of Catalyze Learning
International, will speak on the "New
Generations of Learning." Invited
speakers include Governor Arnold
Schwarzenegger; Mr. Cem (pronounced
Gem) Erdem, President and CEO of
Augusoft, Inc, the first software
company to establish web-based
lifelong learning systems for the
educational community, and others!
Conference tracks include presentations
on Next Generation Leadership,
Learning, Community and Networking,
Planning and Tools, including emerging
technologies, e-tools, and e-marketing.
A high point of last year's Conference
was the networking with all Conference
Presenters. You will again be able to
meet all of the Conference presenters
during a special session where you will
have the opportunity to interact oneon-
one with presenters, gather new
tools, and network with colleagues from
other colleges and economic development
projects. Presenters will be prepared
to share their presentations electronically
and answer questions. This
is your best chance to connect with
conference presenters one-on-one.
While we know the entire Conference
will be of interest to CEOs, VPs, EDPAC
members, Deans and Faculty leaders
within the System, we plan to have
specific sessions dedicated to their
needs and interests in economic and
workforce development. All Community
College Faculty are invited to attend at
a special faculty rate of $150 for the
entire conference! We hope you will
encourage all of your colleagues to come
and learn about tools and information
that will help them in
their classrooms and in
their special projects.
And, if the Conference
content, networking, and
learning new tools aren't
enough enticement,
there's the beautiful
Newport Beach Marriott Hotel and Spa!
Thanks to a dramatic $70 million
transformation, this newly remodeled
hotel offers a whole new take on coastal
living with sleek, modern style. Enjoy
sweeping Pacific views, a vibrant décor,

We look forward to sharing another
exciting learning event with you in
